That is right. It's usually something to do with the tail lights. If it worked before the recall then I'd start with undoing the recall. I'm not having it done on any of mine. It's only for morons that never open their hood and don't notice leaks till it burst into flames. Kinda funny how most of those recalls work that way.
I wasn't going to get the recall done either but just got paranoid seeing the fires that had started there and did it. Didn't want to lose my truck cause of something stupid like that. No problems with it yet..
Mines never leaked either but I do constantly check for leaks. I actually open the hood 2-3 times a day and check. Normally it's to check for packrat nests around here since we're on a farm but I check everything while it's open. Everyone should. Cars will rarely break down with just a little preventive maintenance. And we drive a lot. I did almost 60,000 miles in the last year on my truck.
Yep, I open my hood and check everything out every day I drive it. Like I said, just didn't want to take the chance. I only drive mine half a dozen times a month, 7k a year or so, otherwise its sitting in the shed. No need for something stupid like a fire starting and burning down everything when there was a recall for it happening.
Could be just them switches.. I usually end up with that problem in everything else Ford related, why not these? Those and those darn lights that are supposed to light up the switches.. always one side burns out on me, driving me nutty! LOL
Any chance the switch on the master cylinder could have gone out and won't let the CC turn on??? Just throwing something out there cuz I have no clue. Surprisingly with all the other things wrong with my truck, the CC has always worked. LoL. My 3rd brake light is out, but yet the CC works flawlessly. lol
