Hello everyone sorry in advance for posting on a topic thats been discussed countless times but there is some info I cannot find through all these posts..the comp cams replacement parts and what is included for the infamous 2005 5.4 cam phaser issue and what is exactly needed..here is a link to the parts COMP Cams: 4.6L/5.4L SOHC/DOHC ADJUSTABLE CAM GEAR SET
what I would like to know is does this include everything I need to fix it ie: roller pins and such.. i know gaskets, chains and tensioners are obviously not included..I would like to get everything in one order and be good to go upon delivery..thanks for any help
Hi, my truck is having the infamous phaser problem. Im just wondering if you did end up going with the comp cams adjustable gear setup. And if so, did it work?
I don't have an answer for you, inline. But I would like to point out that scenario has only 1 post, this one from 2 years ago. I would'nt wait too long for him to answer.
Hopefully someone else will see this and be able to help you out
Hi there funny ANYONE would finally respond now after such a long time..At any rate, funnier still is i'm dropping my truck off tomorrow either to finally get those phasers done or all new fuel injectors.. Truck started running really rough (and no all the coil packs are new 20k ago) felt like a stuck injector but after speaking with the mechanic he said those phasers may finally be REALLY DONE..which isn't so bad i have put about 75k on since i noticed the issue.. So he will find out when he gets it in the shop..Now I did not buy those parts cause when I spoke with my mechanic he would not warranty the Comp Cams, however Napa auto parts now carries it and he warranties everything if I use them or obviously ford factory..Ford here in Manitoba Canada quoted me about 2500$ to do both sides..my mechanic with Napa parts quoted me 13000-1400$
Soooo long story short no..But I hear nothing but great things about them reading this site and others..I never did find out either if that kit included the roller pins and what not
Lol well thanks anyways. I had mine replaced at 188k, im now at 265k and they're starting to make that lovely ticking sound again. Im putting myself through school so, I was looking for a less costly solution.
