Which flash

Just sitting here at the dentist and was wondering who else still has the VXCFH2 flash? My truck is a 2006 and owned it since 1000 miles and far as I know it never has been reflashed.

The truck runs great, gets good miles per gallon and pulls the hills like a billy goat with our 5th wheel. I'm hesitant to get it reflashed because it runs so good. Also living in Canada where as we speak it is -17 it starts without complaint.

So just wondering who else has an older flash?

Yeah I should clarify, I'm of the same opinion and have no plans to reflash because it is working so well. Just wonder how many 6.0's are out there running with older flashes.

VXCF7 = FICM Killer
VXCF9 = Fuel Killer...(at least it doesn't overheat the FICM any longer and sweeps the VGT for those that don't drive it like they stole it...)

I don't have the latest flash in mine, and I like the way it runs. I already have EOT and ECT gauges so I'm leaving it be!

I have an '06 that runs well and gets good MPGs and I was considering the latest flash. Seems like it's not worth risking the drop in MPGs I keep reading about.

That was my experience when my truck was flashed from VXCF6 to VXCF9. I noticed very little difference in mileage.

I've heard it both ways about the VXCF9 Flash, but MOST report no loss in fuel mileage. IIRC the FICM killer flash came out sometime in late 06 or early 07 after the buzz flash that people hated so much. If your truck was flashed during that time up until about December 09 then you should get your truck reflashed just to protect the FICM.

Lates Flash ???

Fellas,
I just spoke to a diesel tech at my local Ford dealership about gettting the latest flash for my truck. He said that once he updates my truck with the latest flash if i go upload my SCT tunes that it would completey overwrite what he has done and their wouldn't be any benefit. Also, he mentioned that the new flash (or any) has never ever fixed a hard start.

Now does this sound right??
