Ok so I kept having a squeek when I started my truck so I started it up and started spraying wd-40 into the pilots and the one next to the AC unit if looking at the truck on the right side of it was the culprit it has a little play in it but not much so can I buy just bearings and put them in or should I get the pulley? The pulley looks good no grooves and the belt doesn't move on it. Also any idea the cost either way?
The three idler pulleys are between $10 and $30 depending on the brand.
I replaced all three trying to get rid of the squeek and it turned out to be the belt that was making all of the noise.
WD40 will make a good bearing go bad real quick. The best way to check them is to take off the belt and spin them by hand.
Personally I would just buy the whole pulley instead of replacing the bearing, they are fairly inexpensive.
Thats just for the three pulleys, the actual spring loaded idler assembly is more.
I cant remember exactly what I payed, but two were $10-$15, and the other one was close to $30.
Well I know for sure it's that idler pulley and not the belt slipping the belt is only a year old from when my water pump went out and stupid me should of replaced the upper radiator hose to the duel alt type so if I need to replace the belt I don't have to pull the hose. Are all of the idler pulleys the same size?
I have done this on previous gas burner half-ton trucks as well as the F250. I buy a new one, then take the used one apart to determine the bearing size, then replace it and use it as a spare. Makes the change-out quick the next time.

Yep, there are three different sizes, I got mine at Advance auto. they have a one year warrenty. I returned all three under warrenty for new ones, because my squeek came back after a month or so. Tuned out it was that damn NAPA belt. Thats two napa belts that started squeeling on me, both less than a year old.
Good luck, all three pulleys can be changed in 10 mins or so. I hope it fixes your problem. I hate squeeks.
My truck is doing the "good morning" squeak also. I assumed it was one of the pulleys, but now I wonder if it is just the belt. This belt was either a NAPA or Oreilys. I also wonder if I'm becoming to obsessive as I have a lot of free time right now.
I would not bother with Napa or Oreilleys belts alot of people on here have had the belt squeek with those EXCEPT for the Gatorback brand belts. I would suggest OEM. Give ed a call as he always says OEM BABY!!!
my P/S pump is whining a little bit, so I'm going to replace it and just because I'm there the idler and the tensioner at the same time. since my kid drives the truck all the time I rather replace them now before something happens...
