i have a f250 1999 power stroke an i was woundering if any one knows if the rear end from a f350 will fit in my f250 or is there any mod kits to beef up the rear end some i need about 600 lbs more cap. to handle my 5er any help here wounld be great thanks xr
List up dude, you may not believe me on this, but trust me it's true.
No need for the axle swap- just get bigger tires-thats all the difference there is between F250, and F350(SRW) anyway.
The 250 comes from the factory stock with LT-235/85-R16-E tires with load rating of 3042lbs each
The 350 SRW(non dually) comes stock with LT-265/75-R16-E tires with load rating of 3415lbs each.
That's why the 250 has a rear GAWR of 6084lbs and the 350 has a rear GAWR of 6830lbs.
There are absolutely no other differences between them other than tires-same axle, same brakes, same bolt patterns, same springs, same shocks.
Your rear GAWR is rated for the weakest component in the axle/suspension- for both the 250, and 350(SRW) this is the tires.
Axle capacity = 10,500lbs BOTH
Spring capacity = 7000lbs- BOTH
Tire capacity(250)6084lbs - 250 GAWR=6084lbs (rear)
Tire capacity(350)6830lbs - 350 GAWR=6830lbs (rear)
Now if your talking about converting to duallies-thats whole different matter all together-you will need an axle from a DRW truck/wreck to do it-along with some modifications/adjustments to your driveshaft-and body work(if you want it to look good)
I would not be qualified to tell you how to go about it other than the brief outline above.

NOPE! Johnny Law only knows what is posted for GVWR for a F250 from the factory... And he only has to go to the plate on your door to find out that you are overloaded. If you were involved in a wreck, I would be even more worried about his cousin... Jonny Lawyer!

It would be the same thing if he actually did the axle swap-no reason as it's the same, plus it still dos'ent change that sticker
one bit.
And it depends on what state you live in, some will allow you to register the vehicle with whatever GVWR you want, and ussually thats what the cops go by if your ever pulled over.
I would check to be sure, but if not then he really dos'ent have any viable way to legally increase his GVWR or GAWR, even though in this case it's a simple tire swap.
Ford's smart, - they charge 1000.00+ for different tires which is'int costing them much, and a different sticker!...lol.
It was not until late 2001 that the F250 got the same rear springs as the F350.
