Anybody try this oil? Right after I bought my truck, I went over to Pep Boys so I could get ready for the quickly upcoming 5000 mile maintenance. I bought four gallons of this Castrol stuff, just tonight I read at the bottom of the label on the back that it's BP... Doh.

Soon after that shopping trip I went to Wally World and see that synthetic Rotella was even less money than this Castrol Heavy Duty Dino oil. That got me a bit bummed because I kind of like Pep Boys.

Right at the moment I am running Delo 15W40. I'm just looking ahead and want to do the right thing by my truck and my wallet, even though I'd like to run Redline, Royal Purple, or maybe even Amsoil but that doesn't seem reasonable because of the short maintenance intervals on our 7.3's.

One more thing, I live near Santa Fe, NM and it sometimes gets down to 5 degrees Fahrenheit.

Storage
All packages should be stored under cover. Where outside storage is unavoidable drums should be laid horizontally to avoid the possible ingress of water and the obliteration of drum markings. Products should not be stored above 60°C, exposed to hot sun or freezing conditions.

return it and get the synthetic or just run what you baught, the oil you have is no big deal providing its rated for diesil, your good. Least its not reclaimed engine oil.

 

Well the castrol runs about 9.99 on sale and meets all the specs for your engine rotella is about 20.00 at walmart. So if you payed 20.00 for castrol return it.
