Exhaust

What company makes a CALIFORNIA LEGAL crossover pipe/catalytic converter.LMC carries them but they aren't legal here,it seems to be a pain trying to find one.

Seems to me the solution is to leave that fascist state. Tax tax tax, and if it's fun it's illegal. You seriously can't just put a normal dual exhaust with a cat on each side and a crossover?

Their taxes don't seem as bad as Washington, I am glad I quit smoking. 7+ bucks a pack up here, still 4 something in Cali...

My impression at the moment is that California won't let you muck with
ANYTHING that was in any way connected to any emissions-related equipment,
it MUST remain as the factory produced it.

But, this is just my understanding and I could be wrong, others will know more.

You ARE CORRRECT!When it comes to emissions no part can be modified.,It truly sucks and gets aggravating.Aftermarket companies make parts that are 49 state legal, why not just do everybody a favor and make'em 50 state legal. What is the difference between a cali legal cat and non cali?

It is not the difference between Cali & non-Cali cats (AFAIK there isn't one) it's the mere
fact that Cali will not let you muck with the exhaust because it is part of the emissions
control system
, therefore untouchable by mere mortals. Doing so is punishable by fines
& jail time.

There are *some* changes & "upgrades" that are allowed but I don't remember the
specifics, you need one of the California guys out here to explain more.

EDIT: Similarly, it is a Federal offense for any parts supplier or vendor to supply parts
designed to circumvent or bypass the factory-installed emissions equipment.

This stuff is all well-defined in Sections 203(a)(3)(A) and (B) of the Federal Clean Air Act
(initially instigated in 1970 and modified in 1990).
