2000 exp rough idle

Have 2000 explorer with 196,00 miles 4.0 V6. Now the problem now that its cold out when we start it it does not want to idle it will die and then have to start again keep foot on pedeal for a few min. Does any one have any idea on what it might be or what i will need to fix. Other than that runs real good.

Sounds like you might be experiencing the fairly common issue of a failing Idle Air Control (IAC) servo. May also be called "Idle Air Bypass" motor or some variation of this.
