A couple of questions for the 6.7 Guru's

I have 2 questions that might seem simple for many, but it's confusing to me.

1. I have about a 1000 miles on the truck, 300 pulling trailers. I have not seen or heard a regeneration on this truck. I thought it would be displayed on the screen or at least feel or hear it. How do you tell when the regen happens?

2. When pulling a trailer in tow/haul mode it still, eventually goes to 6th gear after smooth and level driving. I thought it stopped at 5th so the rpm's can go up. I did play with the "M", that was cool. No problem, it just surprised me when it slipped into 6 at about 50 mph. Is this common. I've read the book and that part of it was rather confusing Many Thanks

You can prevent it from using 6th gear if that's what you wish to do. Just tap the "-" button on the shifter while in D it will lock out 6th gear or any other gear for as many times as you tap it.

The regen message is a short 3 second flash on the info screen. If you miss the message, you will probably not know it is happening. The tattletale is the instant fuel economy screen. It will show a drop in fuel economy of around 1mpg for about 10 minutes. If you miss the message you will not know to look there. There is no noticeable change in performance or engine noise. As to 6th gear and tow/haul, my truck uses all 6 gears when in tow haul. It will hold 6th down to 50 mph if you are easy on the throttle.
