Gauge Help

I've had my 04 for a while now and have slowly gotten back to Ford worthy. I am at a cross road with the instrument panel. The PO installed a 'flame' overlay and I hate it. Really hate it. Ive never opened one of these up enough to know how exactly to remove it, or if it's just better to buy a stock unit off of ebay. Of course the stock units on ebay have a different mileage associated with them, so I'd prefer to just put this one back to stock. Any have any experience with these?

It's so bad that when I crank the truck my oil pressure gauge will only go up a little but if I tap the cluster it will go up where it belongs. I feel like a WWII pilot tapping his fuel gauge trying to get more fuel out of it.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have removed an instrument cluster before, on a Dodge, to replace the dash, so I'm not afraid of turning the wrenches, probably more worried about the needles.

The dash is really easy to remove. I have the instructions on this computer and I'll attach them. I'm NOT sure about the gauges and needles, but the cluster isn't hard to get out. Remove the radio and the two referenced hidden screws and the rest pops out with a clip tool. Cluster is self explanatory, and I think 2 or three electrical plugs.
