I drove my 5T wrecker for almost 2 months in Gitmo without a starter in it. I would park it at night with chock block in front drivers side intermediate dual, leave it in gear....come out in the morning, hop in, pull the chain connected to the chock block, push in the clutch and then dump the clutch after I got a little speed. It had air over hydro brakes so it was a 2 foot stop to get it shut down at the bottom of the hill.
