85 F150 Starter problems
I have an 85 F-150 with a 351 4-bbl. Anytime I drive it more than a few miles and turn it off, it acts like the battery is drained when I try to start it again. If I wait 15-30 minutes, it will turn over and fire up just fine. The motor is not running hot, and I have replaced the starter and solenoid several times. The alternator is working fine. Any suggestions???

Check the timing. If it's too advanced, it will have this problem.
Also if you have an exhaust leak and it puffs hot exhaust onto the starter it can cause this as well as headers can overheat the starter sometimes.

I was thinking that it may be the headers... But, I have a 68 F-250 with headers and they completely surround the starter and have never had that problem with it... I tried the timing also, maybe I need to retard it a few more degrees...
