Could use a little help.

I have an '84 F-150 with the 4.9L 4 speed, I went to leave work today and my truck didnt start, it started/ran fine on my 25 mile drive to work. I have replaced the starter and solenoid and it still doesn't start. Also my negative battery terminal starts smoking after I try to start it. I took my battery to a local parts store that tested my battery and said it was workin. I'm kinda at a lost as to where to start to make her start/run again. Any suggestions will be much appreciated.

It won't crank, or it cranks but won't fire off and run?

Also, you need to replace that neg battery cable. Smoke means heat. Heat is lost energy from a bad connection. That will tend to starve the starter for power.

My thoughts are to clean the battery ground connections at the engine block (since you should
replace the smoking cable, anyway, you'll already be in there).
