I know this is probably the wrong forum but, My dad has a lead on a mid 80s Van (15 passenger) w/351 running for 300.00. I just happen to need a drive train for my 67. I have a 302HO out of an 88 mustang but would rather have a 351. Any ideas on what engine trans combo this could have? I won't be able to get to buffalo for a few weeks so I cant check on the details. My dad thinks it is an 87 with 2bbl carb, this doesnt sound right to me. Also how can I tell the difference between 351 w,c,m, by loking at them. Any help would be appreciated.

Donovan, The E250 should have a 351W EFI in it. I would grab the engine tranny combo, get some 302 perches and bolt it right in. That is a good price for a good engine-tranny combo. IMHO

I was thinking the same thing. I really wanted to go EFI with the 302 but without a doner vehicle it would require many trips to the scrap yard. I hope the 351 is an efi that was my original goal. AOD would be nice too, not holding my breath on either though. I am thinking that someone made a swap the engine only has 60,000 supposedly. Thanks for the reply.

Donovan, You will find an AOD behind a 302 but not a 351W, even though it too could be an overdrive also.

I thought all automatic overdrive transmission from that era were referred to as an AOD. Am I mistaken? I was told this weekend it is definitly a 2BBl carb so who knows. I will just have to wait and see.
