Aux Tank

Looking to put an aux tank in my 83 f100 with a 300 . I have a spare tank but it has a pump for fuel injection. If I connect this into the main line with a T fitting and using a switch to start /stop the pump to just refill the main tank .Will the mech pump take the pressure while the main tank is filling up and maintain the correct pressure to the carb?
Seeing if what I have on hand will work.

Don't put the aux tank into the main supply line. Take the fuel filler assembly out, and modify it with a fitting and fill it through the filler tube.
