why does my 1978s exhaust smell so strong at time?. more than less...

maybe it's running to rich on fuel, does it have a cat? maybe it's burning oil or AF?

My 77 - 400 smells brutel. But at 10 miles to the gallon I kind of expect it. Carb is freshly rebuilt and idle mixture is about 2 1/2 turns out. Runs great though.

Nothing I love more than waking up 5min before I haft get to skool in the morning and smellin my exhaust while I turn the streets into rally course! Gotta love that beastly truck smell!
