Most of the AKs in Afghanistan are leftover from Soviet occupation, so they are the later AK-74 vs. the AK-47 using the 5.54x39mm round instead of 7.62x39mm. I would say its done to blend into the woodwork, and to get a element of surprise.

Spec ops on the ground that are using AKs have a secondary reason, that being the availability of ammo.

The CZ 61 Scorpion is interesting as a toy for plinking, but the .32ACP caliber is highly dubious.
If it came in 9mm or at least .380acp it would be VERY interesting.

Yep and then if you like the one with the folding stock you need some special short barrel rifle license to get it or so thats what I keep hearing.

I can't see it being very reliable in that little .32acp caliber, sounds like a "bang!, bang!, jam!" type of weapon. There was a note to use only ball ammo for reliability.

It holds 20 rounds of .32acp...............Wow!..... my Beretta will hold 20rounds of 9mm, 21 with 1 in the chamber......that serious firepower in a conventional semi-auto pistol. This Scorpion looks like plinking toy at best, I do not see much point to it. Might be fun on tin cans, if you have lots of money for ammo.
