My passenger door lock sticks. I've tried to spray lots of stuff on, down, around and through the passenger side door lock but it still sticks doesn't make it better or worse no matter what I do. It sticks in the up position and the down position especially when it's cold. When it's warmer it merely goes up and down slowly....slower than the locks on the other three doors and the hatch. Which makes me think something needs cleaning or lubricating but I can't figure out what or where.
A Ford mechanic told me I'd have to replace all the locks and the ignition so they'd all be keyed the same. That is a lot of bucks.
I've had the door panel off and sprayed stuff on, in , and down it but no change. I don't really want to pull it outa the door cause it looks like something I could screw up, but I will if I have to.
Anyone have this problem and have a solution. Suggestions?
someone suggested that the lock itself might be sticking so I sprayed some 5-56 in the key hole...seems to have helped...we'll see when it gets cold again that's when it really is balky
