performance upgrades

I am looking to do some performance upgrades to a 2002 PSD 4X4. Since I can only afford to do one at a time I was wondering if anybody had any recomendations/thoughts as to what to do first or in what order I should do them or any certain products I should look for? Some of the things I am considering are:

bypass oil filtration...
intake systems...
exhaust systems(stainless or aluminum)with or without muffler?...
Gauges...
chip upgrades...

Thanks for the info.

performance upgrades

1. Oil bypass filter by Oilguard http://www.oilguard.com/top_menu/ford.php

2. Coolant filter from Tymar
www.tymarperformance.com

3. Air intake-I like the Tymar, but if you want a reusable filter get the AFE
www.tymarperformance.com
AFE is for sale at the online store here

4. A 4" exhaust system with a performance muffler and a aftermarket turbo downpipe. If you don't mind the turbo flutter, you don't need a muffler.

5. Gauges. A must if you are going to be chipping or running a tuner. Check out Western Diesel.

6. A chip or microtuner. I like the newer microtuners they are selling at the online store here because they also read service codes. When I have the rest of my mods done I plan on getting one.

performance upgrades

I saw this and the bypass filtration thread. Can someone explain the advantages of bypass filtration/why I want it?

This was in the other thread:

Does it replace your factory filtration?

No, it filters in addition to your factory filter down to particles of a much smaller size that the factory filter won't catch.

Thumbs up performance upgrades

Exhaust first! Get ya a 4" downpipe and a 5" strait pipe exhaust system. Then air intake then guages and then a chip.
