99 Exped Door Lock issues

The door locks in my exped have a few issues. The most annoying is that the driver side unlock button (lock side works) does not work when the weather is warm. Also the doors automatically lock when I first start driving my car, but don't unlock when I turn the car off as they are suppose to. I have taken it in a few times for these issues, but the problem has never been resolved. Any ideas?

My guess it could either be the actuator needs replaced or a wiring issue.

Well it is going to be hard to make them unlock when you turn the car off because they are not supposed to.

Sounds to me like u need a switch. Does the passenger door lock work all the time?
As for the doors locking when you take off, i would recomend turning that feature off, unless you like the feature. Unecessarily locking and unlocking the doors does nothing except wear out the door lock actuators. Thecardoc is correct the doors will not unlock when you shut the car off.
Ur local ford dealer can turn off the autolock feature if you decide to do that, or i can give u some assistance if you pm me...

Thanks guys. The passenger side buttons do work all the time. In fact the driver side lock button always works as well. It is just the unlock that does not work in warm weather. When the vehicle was new the doors automatically unlocked when I turned the vehicle off. When it was about 2 years old I was having issues with the alarm. They replaced the "brain" (terminology they used) of the alarm system. Since then the doors do not unlock when the motor is turned off.
Anyway, I think I will inactivate the auto lock function. FordMstrTech, is the switch your referring to the actual button plate (its probably apparent that I am a girl and know nothing about vehicles). Thank you for all the advice.

I can give u some insight on how to deactivate the autounlock feature yourself but it can be tricky. just shoot me an email at kentucky.rem1100@gmail.com...
And the switch i am talking about is the buttons that u actually push to lock and unlock the doors, 90% probability it is the switch...

I found some instructions online on how to deactivate them. If it does not work I would greatly appreciate your instructions. I will try replacing the switch. Hopefully that works. Thanks.
