Hey guys, name is Jay. i am going to grab this 66 ford on the weekend. has no rust on thebody. has some rust ont eh floors and cab mounts. i am not to worried about that. it has some wiring issues with the taillights and signal lights. he says it has the v8 with a 4spd in it and it is listed as a 3/4t. is it or is it the camper version? i am new to these trucks. i do drive a 65 falcon as a dd right now and am buildinga 50 dodge pilothouse truck.
really all i want out of this is to be a dd parts hualer. what is the front axle in these? can i lower it on the cheap, i gather the rear should be easy.
also, it is 8 bolt wheels, same pattern as any ford 8 bolt?
whats the compartment on the side of thebox on the pass side?
thanks, any info woudl be great...........
When you pick that truck up this weekend you might ask the owner if there are any m250 fender badges for it.There was a fellow on here a few days ago chompin at the bit for some.Who knows you might make a few bucks on it.And if it has a Mercury tailgate....well count me in!! LOL
Just a note on the theory that this is a 250, M or F until the 70's Ford never built a 250 with a short bed. Therefore unless some one severly modified a 250 there is very little chance it is a 250.
On it being a Mercury, that would be awesome. I would agree that at least the valance is from a Merc.

will find out what the papers say on sat when i grab it. do they all have the tool box? or is it a camper thing or 3/4t thing?
The side tool box was just an available option in '65 & '66.
It was not part of a Camper Special or Custom Cab package or a 3/4-only thing.
Looks like you'll be needing a set of door mirrors though.
Truck looks sturdy & solid from the pictures! Very Cool!
I'm not a big flame fan, but that doesn't look bad at all!
The stainless steel hubcaps look good too!
Odd to see the radio antenna on the Lside of the cowl......
