Heavier Coils? or level kit
the story is i bought a superlift dual steering stabilizer. after installing it everything seemed good. until i hit a speedbump and hear a wicked clunking sound. i have discovered that when i get anysort of axle travel the mounting bracket for the stabilizer hits some sort of frame rail.
now superlift tells me that i need to put in a lift kit( or a leveling kit) now i dont really want to level the truck becuase my 250 looks pretty level as is.
so i was wondering if i have to "level the front" would i need new shocks and all that other stuff?
would another option be to go the route of 7000# coils? i hear they lift the front about 1 1 1/2 inches and with a higher # rate my truck wouldnt come crashing down onto this poor mounting bracket like it does now? my ford dealer will sell me 2 7000# coils for 150CAD which is as far as i can tell cheaper than most leveling kits.
thanks and i hope you guys can picture/decipher what i was trying to get at!
Now the rear doesnt mean anything for this conversation. The front however, because of the camper package coils. These coils measure 14.7 inches. The exact same truck without the camper package, the coils are 12.5 inches in height.
My truck sits level with the camper package. Without the camper package the front would be 2.2 inches lower.
Hope this might help.
I rechecked the specs page and the taller coils are not due to the camper package, they are taller due to being 4X4.
