I am looking at a 2003 Lightning with 89,000 miles. Is there anything I should know about these trucks? This will be my first time with a supercharged engine, is there any special maintenance with these?

I'm new here, and although I don't own one of these trucks I do know that they are quite solid. It's the second generation of the legendary truck, you really can't go wrong with the 5.4 L Super-Charged Triton V8, pushing 380HP and 450 ft·lbf. I recommend buying it.

 

intercooler core cleaning and i/c pump

91 or better octane fuel

no WOT blasts into 4th (OD)

no kickdowns from OD into 2nd

proper plug torque



and once the mods start, a solid tune

 

Oh c'mon! Those have the best acceleration! Especially when you're tuned via email and have a 6lb lower, stock MAF, on a cold, cold winter morning!!
