Yes, I can read the number on the block too, if I zoom in on the picture. Looks the same as the sticker on the valve cover. That is how mine is too, except a Indy motor.
Thanks for posting that, my truck is a 2000 but the engine was built 19 aug 99 in Indianapolis serial number 1113142. So it looks like I probably don't have a LL in #8. I have had my valve cover off 2 times and never checked.

are we all running around on 6 cylinders???
Having a LL injector isn't a problem, just a fix by the manufacturer for the "cackle" in the engine.

This S/B covers all you need to know. My truck didn't have a sticker on the VC anymore due to wear and tear. But it did have a LL injector. I verified it when I did my glowplugs a few weeks back.
I would have been nice if they had mentioned any Brazilian serial number cut-in, and even better if they had included the build date of serial number 1311241.

Yeah, you got a point. You wonder if they got the memo in Brazil...
My truck was built in Nov. 2000 and had the Long Lead injector. Since yours was built some months later, I think it would be safe to assume that it has an LL also.
I'm picturing a bunch of monkies at Ford HQ standing around with a football and nothing to do. Could they have reversed engineered the 7.3 L any more if their lives depended on it. Instead of solving a problem correctly, they throw in some half cocked idea that only makes matters worse. Which additionally causes more problems yet. Oh well, at least we didn't take the bail out money. Boy I do miss my old 6.9, kind of.
Thanks guys - used this thread to locate my Excursion's engine serial # near the oil filter/cooler since the only thing left of the valve cover sticker is some adhesive residue!
