My friend just bought a 93 F150 with a 300. It runs great except for it will occasionally want to stall and run rough. When it does this the check engine light flashes pretty fast and you can hear some relays under the hood click seemingly in time with the check engine light. I noticed the exhaust smelling very very rich when the truck does this, even blowing a flame out of the exhaust (which is cut off under the truck after the 2nd cat). Does this problem sound like a power issue to the computer or maybe a grounding issue to the power distribution box? I am curious to hear your thoughts.

It would be well worth checking the "computer" to see if anything is awry.
Your friends computer will be very similar to the one in the repair above.
I had a random miss problem that i resolved by doing this repair.
Don't forget, these "computers" have been in our trucks for about two decades and may need a little TLC.
