1998 Ford Explorer

My kAuto lamp system is not operating. My lights stay on so long it is draining my battery. This is a problem because I don't have the money to keep replacing my battery.

I can't find a manual anywhere on line that can advise me on how to fix this problem. Does anyone know what I can do to repair or replace the fuse/sensor?

Just yank the auto lamp relays. Problem solved & you can still turn on the lights manually.

On second thought, I would remove the auto lamps sensor (looks like it's shorted out)from the rear view mirror & use the head lights in manual mode.

If you want electrical problems to go away quickly & easily take a look at the "1998 Explorer/Mountaineer electrical & vacuum troubleshooting manual" at helminc.com

It's the best 26 bucks you will ever spend on a manual for your ex. & i see it's on sale now for 30 % off.
