Craftsman Tool Set

I am a Craftsman tool guy.

Now! Here is my dilemma.

I've got an 85 F150, and I want to start some motor restoration.

Now, for the tools.

I want to get myself a new tool set, so!!!

This is what I want to know.

I am going to get a Craftsman Tool Set from Sears, and this is what it is.

Sears: Online department store featuring appliances, tools, fitness equipment and more

This is the list of everything in it.

http://download.sears.com/misc/IL36260.pdf

Do you think I can do most of everything with this tool set?

Check it out and let me know! Thanks!

I'll say this, I bought a very similar set about 15 years ago. It is a good basic set but there are tons of "specialty" tools you will also need. Various pliers, ignition wrenches, fuel line tools, flare nut wrenches etc etc. Then there are times you need a flex head ratchet or flex sockets or a torque wrench and ratchet wrenches. It just goes on and on. You could easily drop $1K on tools and still not have everything you need.

I'd say buy it and then start searching ebay for the more specialty stuff you end up needing. I've got some pretty good deals in the last month on there. Also Sears had some really good sales over the last few weekends on tools. On top of all that you will want a tool chest sooner or later. I've got 2 and could use a third any time now.

Same comments here!

Craftsman tools are a good buy when on sale. You might also pick them up at the K-mart stores.

Go with a basic set and then buy what you need that are specialty tools.

The other option you can do like me and troll garage sales once in a while sometimes you can luck out and get a old snap on wrench for a few bucks and send it in for a brand new modern one. Some friends did that but I havent had the luck yet, plus I prefer craftsman cause if a tool breaks I can take it to sears not wait days mailing it back in or waiting for the truck.

Aside from that you could also check ebay as was said above for used tools or maybe even brand new ones.
