Exclamation Air Ride issue...

...uuuhhhhh.....

I seem to have figured incorrectly on a few calculations...

Would some of the fellow "baggers" please chim-in with tire & wheel
combo's...PLEASE!!!

15" rims were the plan...width about 6-8"...all around if possible...

Suddenly I've encountered an issue I did not forsee in my original plannin'
and I am NOT too pleased with myself...RIDE HEIGHT!!!

Lightbulb uuuhhhhhh.....

....I'm just freakin' out about this notchin' thing.....

I am SO far behind on this project for reasons that just don't matter...ya
know how it is...that now it's gonna be cold (again!) and I'm just
complaining because I've spent so much screwing around with "other"
stuff...

Had some family things and... .....then we ALMOST moved........

Anyway....back on track...I don't care if I have to move this project in a
MILLION PIECIES or what...I never did figure out my ride height!

PLUS...I just figured that with these Art Morrison formed pieces I
have I just MAY run in to issues with my bag brackets...

Mine are "Bent the Hard Way"

The overall spread on these is 30" wide
13" "Tall"
9" on the inside of the radius

Art Morrison Enterprises - 1953-1962 Corvette A

BEFORE I cut these rails I thought maybe I should KNOW my tire & wheel
sizes!!!!!

I think I'm just gonna "guess-ta-mate" about 28" overall and run with
that......

Taking some rough measurements from my 56 I have approximately 13 inches from the bottom of the running board brackets to the top of the frame at the kickup over the rear axle housing. Using these measurements, if the frame was sitting on the ground (running board brackets touching the pavement) then the top edge of the frame over the rear axle housing would be 13 inches off the pavement. Let's say for the sake of argument that your wheel/tire diameter is 28 inches, that means that the radius would be 14 inches....so the center of your axle housing is now 14 inches off the pavement. Assuming that your axle housing is 3 inches in diameter then the top of the axle housing would be 15.5 inches above the pavement. Since the top of your frame is only 13 inches off the pavement you will need a kickup that gives you at least the same clearance. I will assume that once you have the air bags inflated to their running pressure/height that you will never bottom out the suspension...in this case you will need a clearance of 16 inches (rounding up from 15.5) from the lower edge of your kickups to the pavement. Another way to look at it is that if you use your current stock frame as a point of reference, you will need to position the lower edge of your kickups 3 inches higher than the top edge of your frame when measured at the axle housing.
Just for another data point, I am running 315/35-17 rear tires and they are 26 inches in height.
