5.4L engine codes

My wife has a 2005 Expedition with the 5.4L motor in it. I have had a number of codes show up over the past 2 weeks, P0345 and P0349. I have replaced both Cam Position Sensors and the Air Filter. Someone also told me to clean the MAF Sensor also. I figured that I would try anything. the motor still runs like crap at low RPM's but once up to aveage spped it runs fine. Anyone have an idea what I should do next, other that take it to the ford garage. Thanks

Disconnect your battery for a half hour or so. This will erase the KAM (keep alive memory) in the ECU and then take it for another drive. This will ensure that the ECM is reading all new parameters. Sometimes just clearing codes doesn't work.

I have a 2001 ford lightning with codesP0171 and code P0402. The truck doesnt have any power or idleing issues, it runs great. But i have a tick on driver side wheel well that you can only hear in park or at stop light. I have always changed oil at 3,000 miles with motorcraft 5w-20 and motorcraft filter. Just changed plugs and coils with no change in sound.I dont believe it is cam phasers after reading the symptoms. Could it be the VCT solenoid? It almost sounds like exhaust leak, but havent found one. Thanks.

You do not have cam phasers on a 2001 bowtie. This didn't happen until 2004 in the F150.
Sounds like you have the classic broken exhaust manifold studs in the head causing a leak between the manifold and head which does tick lick a lifter.
Change the PCV valve, check the hose to it and clean the MAF for the P0171. These are the most common reasons for a lean code.

2001 Lightning with ticking noise

I got a guy who's suppose to look at it monday, He said it to could be an exhaust leak, or the back valve on driver side. Also contacted Racer Walsh Ford performance and they said the same thing.Thank you for your response.
