doing some other work in the area and was wondering if a shackle flip was possible with the oem rear bracket or if an aftermarket bracket was needed. thanks guys
isnt the bolt pattern different though? i thought you would use the rear becasue no matter what way the bolts would line up.....just didnt know if you used an aftermarket one or not...
you would have to drill holes.. Most of the time with a shackle flip, its cheap lift is why people do it.. so drilling acouple holes isnt a big deal.. Also, some times to get the shacle angle right, you have to move the mount a bit forwards anyways with the flip..
I would not use aftermarket. The parts are made in China. I've had to replace several spring hangers and shackles on Ford trucks, I've always went back to Ford for the parts. I just will not use Chinese parts, if there is any way in the world to do it.
I assume by shackle flip you mean moving the shackle from the front of the spring to the back or vice versa? Will moving the brackets around work on the front to? Thinking that would be cheap lift and make it ride abit better up front to.
yes a shackle flip is flipping the rear spring hanger/shackle 180 degrees and drilling new holes then bolting it to the frame, it gives you cheap lift, i'm not sure what it does to your driveshaft angle though but a bunch of people have done it with no complaints so i would assume that the driveshaft angle can't be messed up too bad
