Well would like to ask something I find odd... on a cold morning I start the truck....(fires right up) and settles into a normal idle(around 650-700) after its Running for 30-40 seconds the high idle kicks in(1100).....Is this normal is it supposed to warm a bit before it goes to high idle....thanks again...
The cold-weather warm-up strategy only works when the oil temp is below 40 degrees or so.
The high-idle mod gets your engine RPMS up for whatever reason you choose; and extended idle-time (especially without daily "blow-outs") is damaging to the engine.
Does anyone know why it stays low rpm before it goes to high idle....I usually just hop in start it up....buckle up and drive away....Is this ok or. Should I let it warm up...
