Steering Radius
Not long ago I slid underneath to find the cause of a thumping sound that was heard going over bumps. I found that the drag link was slightly loose against the steering gear. It sparked further investigation and I saw that when I turned the wheel left it seemed to stop before hitting the stops, maybe 7-10 degrees. Is it possible that the Pittman arm was slid on just one spline too far right on the gear? Would this account for the loss of radius?
I am planning on replacing the hub and knuckle this winter, used a non ABS replacement leaving me without the feature and thought with the whole side off I might as well try to get the truck back to the tough and glorious condition it once enjoyed. I love my Loch Ness and have sent enough fixing it that I want to take care of my investment and keep my ride safe. Any help?
