E40D problem

Hi, I just found this forum while searching for an answer to a question about my E40D. I have a 1995 bronco with the E40D in it, and recently the trans crapped out. I found a recently rebuilt trans on craigslist and purchased it. I thought it was perfect, as it had only 6000 miles on a rebuild, that included a new torque converter, and a shift kit. But I just removed the old trans, and it has a 4 stud torque converter and the new trans has a 6 stud TC. My question is, can I get a flywheel with six holes, or do I have to get a different TC? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

you can get a 6 hole flywheel !! dont ever swap converters from one tranny to another !!

I was told the six stud is for a deisel. It might be wise to make sure the tranny is not also deisel spasific.

agreed, sounds like you may have a diesal tranny in which case wont work. Unless the tranny was built with a diesal converter. you might ask the seller what it had been bolted up to.
