now that is some good info, burns me up when the flag is being raised or lowered or the National Anthem is being played and people just ignore it.
I attended a event a couple of years ago, A Marine Corps color guard brought in the flags, all was silent, all stood, most at attention...............Then some idiots cellphone went off, and he ANSWERED it as the colors went right by him!!!!.........He was rather forcefully "escorted" from the event.
If I am in town I always go to my city's Veterans Day recognition. Our Mayor, Retired USAF Major, Has reminded us of this authority to salute the past two years.
My son and I were at a local gunshow last weekend, and at 11:58 a.m., the operator of the show asked that everyone remove 'their cover' and join him in the Pledge of Allegiance and the playing of the National Anthem, at 12:00 noon.
He repeated his request for 'covers to be removed', then started the Pledge. He also clarified what 'removing your cover' meant to those that were not familiar with the term.
We complied.
One 'dipstick' standing in front of us, failed to remove his cover.
I wanted SO BADLY to give that guy a "DiNozzo" just like Gny. Sgt. Jethro Gibbs doles out on "NCIS".
