I was wondering about lowering my 2wd B2. Not that i necesarily will, probably will never be able to afford it., but would a Ranger lowering kit work as long as I don't need to notch the rear frame.
id like to know this aswell for my 4wd model. only reason mynes not lowerd yet is i want my 4wd to be functional. yeah your laughing but i want my 4wd to work and id like to put airshocks in it so i can raise it back up as i please for light offroading or muddy yards. not like i can use the 4wd bigtime anyway.
Ebony B2-no, ranger will not work. mounts are different. chassis tech makes some drop b2 beams though.
bumpin b2, if you wan to lower it...convert it. i did, its not bad. but trying to lower you 4wd is gonna do nothing but cause probs.
heres a thread where you can learn about the swap. if you need any help i converted mine to a ranger suspension though. just about anybody in the b2 forum will help. lataz
*EDIT* heres millers 2wd B2 lowered 3/5 with beams and a flip kit.
and heres mine, converted 7/7 drop-coils, beams, flip kit block and the conversion itself.
Yep that's my blue B2. I used the Chassis Tech lowered B2 beams, which are for sale because I'm changing everything over to Ranger stuff. After lowered it handled much better.
now those are slick trucks. where did you find the aero mirrors or did yours come with them? btw i love the grill and air diverter.
there is a guy localy that can do it and the 4X4 still be fully functional but, i'd like to do the myself. that way i can say its all myne and custom. id like to be rid of the ugly grill aswell. im considering going to a machine and seeing if they would make a custom grill out of either stainless or chrome. i dont know why but i love the look of brushed stainles. there are no b2s around my area that are lowerd so itd be uniqie for a while. i had considerd heating the springs but i got a lil concernd that they wouldn't support the truck after that. only reason for me to keep 4wd is that id like to still be able to go places a standerd car can't. nothing major. just some heavy duty air bags (maybe dual bags on the rear if i couldn't find some stronger ones).my theory is that id be able to get enough clearance if i only droped it a few inches (no more than 3 with custom easily removable grnd efects) and raise it to factory with the bags. i dont know how its gonna work out but i plan on it in the next year.

The main problem you'd have is the front axle wanting to hit the crossmember or oil pan. There's something I haven't looked into but have thought of. And that is finding out what the AWD Aerostar uses as a front axle. It uses a single speed t-case which should be a bolt in. If the front axle is not the Dana 28/35 ttb, it might be a feasible option. If you find something out let me know.
i want to lower my 71 f250 stepside i understand about flipping the rear axle and i can probaly cut some xtra duty front springs to lower the front but can i still use my stock radius arms the reason i want to lower my truck is i have a wife in a wheelchair and need to get it lower so she can get in easier
if anyone can help .thank you
