I'm baaack!

OK, Mustang's put away for the winter, so the Ex is my DD again. Gonna start hanging out here with my "winter buds".

Hope all are well. Snow's falling in Alaska, it's time to start towing (snowmachine trailers) again. Any new "gotta have" mods out there?

Probably going to do the steering box swap soon. Lots of slop; haven't had the chance to rule out the ball joints yet, but when I put the studs on I'll check them, if not ball joints, I'll probably swap out to the aftermarket steering box. Other than that, not a lot of big plans.

For any still interested, what little driving the Ex got this summer pulled a steady 13.3 average (combined city/highway, about 60/40), using the 5 Star economy tune.

Just thought I'd say "hi"!

Awesome summer, but could have done with a little less rain.

Saw one of your posts about a new truck, and was afraid to ask--Wha' happened?

i just have my fingers crossed it'll be a nice hope sunny summer next year.

the basics of what happend is i was a block 1/2 away from work, going through the intersection of C and Potter. westbound on potter. there was a lady i a '09 subi forester headed eastbound on Potter turning onto C street. i had a green light and she had a yeild on green, well for some reason she decided to turn right infront of me at 30-35mph. my '00 Ex was a total loss

but anyhow i dont wanna bore you with that lol glad to see your back on the boards hope the Ex treats you well this winter. def check those balljoints. i just passed a chevy pickup last night that lost his front wheel right at the balljoint. only reason i know is i stopped to see if he needed help it looked bad though.

anyhow welcome "back"

Hope nobody was hurt!?

Sounds from your other posts like you got to salvage most of the stuff off your other Ex.

Pretty sure if my slop is from steering parts (instead of gearbox), it's tie rods and not ball joints. Snapped a tie rod end on my 93 Suburban. Fortunately it was in a parking lot late at night, and I actually managed to limp it home. It was exciting (only reason I attempted it was deserted roads). I can't imagine what losing a ball joint would be like. :O

Just went out and took care of some minor annoyances--rear wiper and front washer. WD-40 on the rear worked wonders in getting the blade to lay flat. Pulled the sprayer for the front washer, and gave it a little compressed air cleaning, now it's working too!

Studs, steering, etc, will have to wait until next weekend. Too much homework to spend the day in the garage.

i'm going into PT, she was ok i was hurt but it should all work out in the end i hope with no lasting effects.

yeah could very well be tie rods, thats what it was in my f-250 i had 1 1/2" slop left anf right before the tires actualy moved when moving the wheel.

its nice getting the little things fixed long with the big ones, goodluck!
