ZF5 s42

Anyone ever take a zf5 s42 diesel housing and put a zf5 s42 460 internals in it for the lower 1st /reverse and wide ratio?
I have a 95 s42 now but i dont think i will like it for starting out while towing w 4:10s and 35s

I just bought a spare s42 case and have access to a s42 460 trans

I'm not sure if that will work or not. The input shafts for the diesel and the 460 have a different part number. I don't know if the diesel input shaft will work with the 460 countershaft.

I dont want to mix parts, just swap them all out

The 460 input shaft is different than the diesel input shaft. You should be able to swap it all, but I don't know if the 460 input shaft will mate with the diesel engine and clutch.
