Im getting long tube headers for my 1984 f250 4x4. its a classic car in my state so do i need to keep cats on it? and would 2 1/4'' pipe to flowmaster single chambers be to loud ?
Slowmasters aren't a good idea if you want best performance. If you want quiet run DynoMax super turbos, don't care about noise run bullets.
Can't say in your state for cats but I'd wager if it's registered as a classic and doesn't get tested for emissions it doesn't matter. In commie NJ I just don't take any of my stuff to inspection. It's a sham, I'm rarely stopped but when I am it's just a $180 hidden tax to support our corrupt government.
What engine? 2.25" is small. I'd say either 351w or 460 since it's a F-250. If it's a 351w 2.25 will suffice for a mild engine but 2.50" would be preferable. For a 460 2.50" will suffice but 3" is preferable if you've done any port work on the exhaust side.
