Rough starts

My room mate has a 97 Powerstroke that starts rough every morning when not plugged in even in the summer. Any advice?

Explain what you mean by rough? Long crank, romping, smoke??

Lang crank, white smoke to blue, maybe a little romping. If its not plugged in on a cold morning, might as well drive somethin else

I would check glow plugs, GPR, check the HPOP (it needs to be a 1/4-1/2 inch from the top) What kind of oil is he using and how cold is it there? It could be he is using too thick of oil.

He's needed to replace the glowpugs for quite some time now. If those aren't doin there job than the truck will always start rough especially in the cold. Make him replace those already
