Window mirror grommets

I thought I would ask this more time. Does anyone know where I can get actual TRUE reproduction door mirror grommets for the 1965 f-100? Dennis Carpenter sent two that may work, but are not anywhere near the grommets I have on my all original, unmolested, unchanged, untouched 1965 f-100. The D.C. grommets are trapezoidal in profile and poor quality. I have seen the ones that are on my truck and are stock on others, so I know I am not looking at aftermarket grommets on my truck. Any suggestions?

Hi there Dogooder,

Well, as far as I know, nobody is making repops of the window grommets better than Dennis Carpenter...and I think NumberDummy gave you a few places to get NOS stuff, if memory serves me from previous posts. Basically, D.C may be your only option...I've got a set of mirror arms with original grommets that I have in my stash in case something happens to the ones on my truck, pulled from a wreck, and they are probably over 25 years old, if not older, I'd still be inclined to use D.C new ones.Basically, NOS of these are near to impossible to find as they tend to dry up.Look on ebay maybe? Basically, I think you're SOL.

Thanks Cropduster, that is what I figured - just hoped there was something better out there.

You asked this question before. I responded and listed the Ford part number and found two NOS.

I bought some of the door mirror full plugs from LMC and they were dead on from what I pulled out. I beleive they have the slotted ones as well for the mirrors.
Just my $.02's --Mike

Thanks everyone. Numberdummy, I did not receive a reply notification from FTE that you replied to my earlier post - sorry about that. I went back and found the post. Thanks for the suggestion - I still have one good grommet so I will call the dealers you listed earlier and see which is less expensive.

This is what I do, since it's the only way I can keep track of all the posts I type daily.

btw: Bob Allen Ford WILL be the most expensive.
