My Truck: 93 F250 4WD 5.8L. I've been reading a lot of posts, but nothing seems to cover my question. While removing Passenger Side Front Spindle, I noticed that part of the threads were stripped. My question is, does this spindle need to be replaced, or will it be ok? I didn't finish removing bearings, so that I could better show position in a picture. Thanks for any help with this!
The nut that threads on there is what holds the wheel bearings in place-hence it holds the wheel on the truck. Replace it!!
Thanks for your quick response! I agree that it should be replaced. However, I have not had any luck locating where to get one!
Also, I should have been more specific in my original post. I would like to clarify that the threads are stripped to the outside of where the spindle nut goes, so the spindle nut DOES tighten and hold the wheel bearing in place. I was wondering if it would be ok to use it like that until I find a new spindle.
Any response to this, or where I can find a new spindle?
