when ever i start my truck the ALT light stays on, but once i rev it, it does off.
does that happen to everyone else? or is it something like the voltage regulator needs replacing

 

Start out by cleaning your contacts at the alternator, battery ground at the engine block and battery contacts at starter motor relay. If that does not help, I presume that you have charging issue...alternators are really cheap for these trucks.
