trans doesn't shift

i got a c4 trans that won't shift into 3rd. when i put it in drive it shifts from 1st to 2nd just fine but no 3rd.

It used to shift fine, and its not the linkage, right ?
When I had a C4, it would skip second. I took it to a transmission shop, and it was such a simple fix, it only took minutes.

yeah, it used to shift fine, then one day i noticed it wouldn't shift into drive.

Make sure the line for the vacuum modulator is connected at both the intake manifold and the vacuum modulator valve.

It could be the planetary gears. If I have the correct name for the part,it looks like this. This is believed to be what caused my drive to not go. I had reverse, but no drive. If this is what the problem is,I think I have an extra one. Let me know and I'll look.
