OK I will describe as best I can. I have searched but do not know where to start. Cold starts just fine no smoke even. I notice at low speeds say 30-35 mainly If I hold the throttle steady it will act as if you turn a light switch on and gain power so I let off and it drags its butt. Almost like a bucking trans but I am pretty sure thats not it. As long as I do not let off the throttle it will hold that "more power" for a while. Since I bought the truck I felt is was lacking in the power department but do not drive it that much at all as it is my wifes excursion. I had to take it out of towm working so I notice it now. I have an SCT on it with canned tunes but it seems to do it with or without the SCT. I am in MN right now 1400 miles for home and am trying to figure out if this is a major issue. No running issues at interstate speed it does not seem. I also noticed at idle it revs of for a split second I mean real split second, does not seem to idle rough. Any ideas? My buddies of the same year and everything seems to have a lot more power.
It is not like it is locking and unlocking, it is more like going from a stock tune to a highpower tune instantly then back to stock. It may be the converter but i just dont think so.
wondering if it might be a EBPV opening and closing when its cold? seeing as the OP is from AL originally it might be that this is the first time the EBPV has activated. mine used to do this, when it REAL cold.
