talk to chasetruck on this forum he knows all bout doing that.
He's a desert racer. Rally is more or less dirt, but on a closed course and timed. Mikey you talking about Rally racing like what AWD cars do on dirt roads in Europe, or desert racing?
Here is a pic of a rally based truck that I found awhile back on this site:
Not sure whose vehicle this is in order to give credit
That is a Walker Evans special edition or something. May not have been a ford special edition, but rather someone (private party or company) re-creating one of Walkers old trucks. And that truck was a desert race truck by the way - not rally, although there are some similarities.
What exactly are you looking to do with the truck? I would have to tell you these trucks will NOT make a good choice for a rally vehicle, but for going fast in the dirt they can be great. It all depends on what you are realistically looking to get out of it. If you want to do rallycross, etc. and be competitive then go buy an old Audi Quattro for CHEAP, or a subi. If you have the truck and just want to haul butt on dirt roads then I can help you with that...
No problem. Now if the OP really does want to turn his F-150 into something as similar to a rally car as possible - it might end up looking like that. Low ride height, slightly bigger than stock tires, a little light bar on the front, etc.
Now to get it to perform like a rally car is going to take some trick work and $$ that will not be seen by the casual observer.
The ride height is what threw me off as I generally think of a desert racer as sitting somewhat higher than that, then again Im not around any deserts, lol
