DPF/Cat Delete Questions

Hello all,

I have been lurking around the 6.4 forums for a while and really trying to soak up some info before I started posting. I am just beginning to mod my 6.4 and I am getting ready to do the DPF/Cat delete package from Spartan (it's actually sitting in the garage waiting patiently). I have searched the forums fairly extensively but I haven't located a good right up on removing the cat/DPF.

For those that have done it, any tips or tricks that make this job go smoothly?

Thanks in advance for the replies.......

It is real easy to remove it. I removed the hangers with the DPF. Make sure you disconnect the wires from the sensors first then remove the sensors after the pipe is out. There is one fitting back pressure sensor I think it is called that probably wont come out without damaging the threads. Buy a new one. If money permits I would buy all new sensors and put them in the new pipes, this way less chance of Ford knowing you tampered with them if you need to return to stock for warranty.

I saw a good video on YouTube where a mechanic shows step by step instructions.

First buy new senors, i stripped one of mine trying to get it out. Get an impact wrench!! and have patience, some parts come apart easily and others dont.

Like the other guys have said, it is very simple. I only had to replace one sensor at $42.00. What programmer are you planning on running?

Thanks for the help guys.

I was planning on buying new sensors just to have an extra set.

I am actually running the Spartan tuner and S&B Intake. Currently running the 150w/DPF tune. I will most likely run the 210 dpf off since it maintains the factory safeties that the 250 doesn't. We'll see.

Does anyone know the part numbers for the sensors? My local ford dealer is having trouble tracking them down over the phone. The parts guys swears there are only two behind the downpipe, even after I told him where to look on the schematic.
