Plus, I think that 7.3 will still be running when the 6.4 has gone to the bone yard.
thats why I'm not a fan of the idea of getting a dually. (although they are better for towing, more of my miles are not towing.)

Any HD truck easily has a long enough wheelbase for stable towing so long as you are within the truck's GCWR.

well, YEAH, if you're gonna stay within the GCWR but who wants to do that. Properly equipped these trucks can pull/haul much more than the GCWR. And, I think the longer the wheel base on a SRW the more stable the truck. Not as stable as DRWs but more stable than a shorter wheel base SRW. And as the gentleman above said the SRW is much better to drive in traffic. My original reference was to my short F250 (see pics about 2 pages back) not being as stable as my DRW.

Once you go DRW (as for as towing) you will never go SRW, not even close!

I believe it's all about balancing the truck with the intended purpose. If your truck is used for 80%-100% towing, then the DRW is the way to go. Otherwise, I believe, IMHO, it doesn't make sense to be driving around a DRW truck with a 4:XX rear end.
