Carter 1bbl help

Hey guys, I have a issue here. While I was taking the carb apart, I turned it upside down while pulling the halves apart, and a little ball bearing fell out. Now I don't have a clue where this went or what its for. Been looking at the carb for about 30 mins now trying to figure out where this little ball went. Any ideas would be great. Thanks

Edit: I took a picture of my carb so you can have a better idea of where I found the little check ball. I still have no idea where this little ball would go. Pic below with an arrow point where I found the ball at. Sorry for such a huge pic, but I wanted to make sure anyone that wants to help can clearly see the carb.

I was going to wait to see if anyone else had more helpful information, but since no one has replied, I'll tell you what I know.

The ball bearing should be the accelerator pump discharge check ball. There should be a weight that goes along with it. However, on any Carter 1 barrel I have seen, both the ball and the weight go in a hole which is blocked off on your carburetor (directly to the left of the venturi, on the surface of the throttle body). Since that's blocked off, it's not clear to me where it would have gone instead.

I have never seen that opening blocked off, and I don't see how the accelerator pump functions with it blocked off (since the weight and ball normally go in that hole). What year engine did the carburetor come off of? Has it been rebuilt before? The only think I can think of is that maybe the ball and weight are factory sealed in the hole, but I haven't seen that before. However, that doesn't explain why there would have been a discharge ball in the carburetor that could come out (which is why I asked if it has been rebuilt before).

Ball placement

Somewhere I read that in some models the check ball goes into the side rather than down from the top. Is there a hole in the side of the bowl that it will fit? I would hold that section upside down to make sure the weight slides down (up) in the chamber before slipping the ball in. Good luck!
