i need to install a EOT gauge, wheres people putting the sensors for the oil temp on a 7.3?

i do have batterys/oilpan/coolant heaters for pluggin into house and they are on a timer also on this excursion

Don't know, I read it off the ScanGauge. I think you can use a spin-on oil filter adapter to read EOT or EOP.

If her job pays good you can leave it idle all night. Im sure DP could get you a tune to consume minimal fuel at idle She might just have to squeeze her cheeks and floor it! Thats what I had to do when my Dodge i had before the PSD lost its heating. Man we tried everything and replaced everything and it would only blow cold. My winter drive to work SUCKED!

believe it or not the exhaust valve helps allot, this thing warms up allot faster then my IDI.. that thing i can drive along ways in the winter and it not get toasty hot..

the powerstroke with the ex bpv warms up fast when driven, but it still takes a mile or 2, i mean its nice when she gets to work, but the first 2 miles even after the 10 minute idle is good but not great, the heated seats help a ton!

Hell, with it that cold all the time, you could take the fan completely off. It'll give you a little better mpg's too. IIRC, Kris did that one winter and had no issues in VA where its nowhere near as cold.

B-uno, WHere in Alaska. IMO i would not Put cardboard in front of the radiator. contact Alaska Tent and Tarp in Fairbanks, they make awesome grille covers and they work great. They have a zipper in the center so when it isnt as cold u can open it up and allow air flow thru all the coolers and radiator. THere is also a section of the cover that goes between the grille and bumper and straps to the frame and doesnt allow air flow up from the bottom thru the radiator. Cardboard can get wet and freeze and deteriorate. Good quality covers at Alaska Tent and Tarp. I used them on my Ranger, IDI, and My powerstroke when i lived up there. They also sell Summer screen covers to keep the bugs out of the radiator. Well worth the money.

Grill Cover

We use Tent and Tarps covers on all of our pipeline trucks. They work fine.

Usually stay plugged in all night.

If real cold (more than below minus 40) we let the truck run all the time. That way you are sure to have a warm running truck the next day.

Don't know where in MT you are, but Northland Automotive in Billings typically has them.
