When I run my engine I get grayish smoke coming from the dipstick tube and CDR, is this normal?
Also my engine has a little tick (it's louder when the engines cold) I was told it could be timing, is there a good way to time these engines by ear till I can get it timed the right way?
And I just drained my coolant and filled it back up with fleet charge, I was lucky enough to get both block drains out, but I think I still have air in my cooling system, cause I could only get it to take 4 gal of coolant ans 2 gal of water, I tried running the engine and taking off the rad cap, but it just pissed water all over my engine, so how is a good way to get the air out?
And last but not least!
I changed my old and filled it up with 10pt of oil, but my dipstick still says it's low on oil, so does it need 11pt or is the dipstick off?
engine holds somewhere around 2.5 to 3 GAL of oil im not good with conversions but i know pints is small and GAL is big. but it depends on your filter how much it will hold but defiantly somewhere between 2.5-3 GAL
The antifreeze may be full, I just switched an oil cooler, so had the rad drained, and I suspect most of the block, and before refilling the antifreeze I ran it a few minutes to watch for oil leaks. It got to a point that antifreeze was dribbling out the still open rad drain, so there's some still hiding somewhere!

I think my heater core was still full, so my plan is to cut the tube going to the heater and put in a bleeder valve, since it is the highest point in my cooling system if any air is still trapped I'm guessing that's where it would be.
Or I could just put in a coolant filter with a bleeder valve and it would do the same thing.
